Wiremu is a Youth Educator from Te hiku o Te Ika (Far North). He employs traditional Maori games as an educational tool to promote physical activity in schools and communities throughout Te hiku o Te Ika.


Embracing the Global Family means shared experience

Session 1 and 2:  Te Whare Rēhia

There are over 300 traditional Maori games designed to develop and nurture the individual and collective talents of a community.

Tribal lore, histories and appropriate social behaviour were reinforced and developed through game play.

Wiremu will introduce you to a number of games and their associated tikanga (custom/ritual) the workshops will be interactive, educational, fun utilizing natural materials.
